DNC Reaches Out to Asian and Pacific Islander Communities

Asian American Voters Could Be Key Swing Voters of 2024 - The New York Times

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has unveiled a significant paid media campaign aimed at increasing voter turnout among the Asian-American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities across the U.S. This campaign involves a six-figure investment and will be distributed through various media formats, including print, digital, and radio advertisements.

To ensure broad accessibility, these ads will be translated into multiple languages, such as Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Filipino, Vietnamese, and Tagalog. The ads will be featured in publications and radio stations that cater specifically to these communities, particularly in key states like Florida, New York, and Texas.

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison emphasized the importance of these communities in determining the outcome of down-ballot races that could shape the future of the country. He stated that the DNC is committed to reaching AANHPI voters through trusted sources and in their native languages, ensuring they have the resources necessary to cast their votes in what is being called one of the most crucial elections in recent history.

Harrison stressed that Democrats are not taking any vote for granted and are mobilizing all areas of their broad coalition to ensure not only the re-election of Vice President Harris but also to maintain Democratic majorities in Congress.
