Las Vegas police shoot, kill knife-wielding man near Airport

According to police, an individual forced their way behind the business counter and threatened employees. Las Vegas Metro police are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting. Officers responded to the 200 Block of East Tropicana Avenue.

Employees asked the individual to leave.

Officers reported when they arrived, the male was still on the business’s property.

The male was reportedly holding a knife and began running toward police.

One responding officer shot the suspect.

LVMPD said the male continued to charge the officers, causing the second officer to shoot the unidentified male again.

The second officer fell to the ground as the suspect continued to run toward police. Multiple rounds were fired at the individual, who then attempted to flee the scene before falling to the ground.

Police report the suspect was taken to UMC hospital and later died.

No officers were injured.
